“TAKE A WALK IN THEIR SHOES”
A WALK-A-THON
FOR RETURNING CITIZENS
Our committee is inviting you, your staff, Summit, Stark, Medina and surrounding communities to join us in a walk-a-thon for returning citizens
(ex-offenders & veterans). This is to raise awareness of their struggle of reentering society. They have many barriers in finding housing and employment.
This event will take place on August 12, 2017. It will start at 9:00 am in front of County of Summit Common Pleas Court on 209 S. High St. Akron. The walk will conclude at Buchtel H.S. 1040 Copley Rd. Akron.
We would appreciate your support by walking or giving a financial contribution or you may sponsor someone to walk. There will be a community event from 11am-5pm at Buchtel High School. You will have 2 minutes to talk at the end of walk. The early registration fee to walk will be $15.00 including a t-shirt. The day of the event will be $20.00. The deadline for early registration is July 22, 2017.
